The El Paso County Fair is officially underway!! I had the honor of judging the "bucket calf" competition on Saturday afternoon. I know, I know...what the heck is the bucket calf competition?? I will tell you this...no buckets are involved!!Kids 7 years old and under show their calves that are 120 days old or younger. Baby cows!!! Awwww.....so sweet!
I had a terrible time trying to judge them...and who wants to pass judgement..really?? So there was an 8 way tie for first! Yay!!!
On the downside...as I was judging and trying to look like I actually knew what the heck I was doing (a big thank you to Ralph - cattle man extraordinaire and Danya - the El Paso County Fair Queen...walked me through the whole process)...As I was walking along...stepped right in fresh baby cow poo....yep!!! Welcome to the County Fair!!!
