Here's what I did this weekend...

Ugh...before the project...

OK...so there's a whole story that goes behind this. Last summer it was HOT! You remember...HOT HOT HOT!! So I bought a pool! Yep, the big redneck kind with the metal frame and blue vinyl sides....I put it up in the backyard...NEVER swam in it...not even once (it was too cold)! I took great care of it, cleaned it, put the chemicals in it...everything! But I did put it on slightly uneven ground. So not only was it too cold, but I was terrified that it would collapse!So when the end of summer rolled around...I drained it and yep...wouldn't you know it...the stupid pool and all of that water with chemicals KILLED MY GRASS! I thought it would grow back this year! HA! Fat chance! So...instead of looking and walking on creepy looking dirt (I think the pool chemicals started their own gene pool in my dirt!) Gross...I had the bright idea to put a patio on top of it! A piece of advice...if it looks easy...it is NOT! Spouse Greg carried more sand and bricks than ANY human should ever have to!! I won't bore you with the details...but here is the before and after of our beautiful patio! (Which is where I am right this very minute - wireless is a beautiful thing!) Thank goodness it's over...my body is killing me...but man oh man...there is nothing better than spending a cool summer evening on the patio in beautiful Colorado Springs! What a great life! (By the way...that's my dog Hula Hoop in the picture!)
